The editors of Left Bank Review/Echo Journal  are pleased to announce new updates to our readers. First, we're wrapping up the SPAM project on http://spam-project.blogspot.com . This will be our first "in physical print" offering! If any of you are interested in contributing to this effort, please enter your poems and/or collages for our review by March 31, 2007.

Second, in August, 2007 all of our previous online journals and supplemental pieces will be sent to our affiliate publisher for print. The book, to be titled: Echoes of Modernism from the Virtual Century will be a combination text book containing traditional Modernist literature and our less traditional reviews surrounding that literature. We will post the first chapter on this web site.

This issue of the LBR deals with the small presses of the 20th century --their publications and their writers-- from The Dial and Margaret Fuller to the Harlem Renaissance and Jean Toomer. Two articles, "The Influence of Little Magazines in the Early Twentieth Century" and "Literary Periodicals of the Harlem Renaissance: The Migration of African-American Voices from Silence to Expression," cover this history. Additional articles include a biography of Ezra Pound's life, a discussion of the Adelphi, and a look at the influence of limited mass production on the publishing industry. Our profile series grows with this edition, too, as ten more writers are added.

Echo Journal  - Supplemental

This supplement contains an interview with singer/songwriter Tret Fure as well as a brief historical look at the Douglass Theatre in Macon, Georgia. For those readers interested in being able to print portions of our magazines, this supplement has a new format and is available in PDF for a printer friendly version.

The Winter/Spring issue of EJ, introduces our readership to the wonderful talents of artist Jessica Gregory and musician Melanie DeMore. Both women are making exciting contributions to the arts and humanities. We also have three poets and a fashion designer, Daisy Pomeroy, for you to meet, as well as a pictorial tour of the historic missions located in San Antonio, Texas.
