FAQ
Are The
Left Bank Review, The Echo
Journal and The Left Bank Humanities
Foundation sponsored by a university?
No. The Left Bank
Humanities Foundation has recently applied for its right to
exist as a non-profit organization. Until that status is
achieved, the LBHF will continue to be privately funded.
Does your organization work with
universities, or with other educational institutions?
So far, the LBHF has not
directly participated in classroom education, however, one
of our goals for 2006 is to
strengthen our presence to institutions of higher learning
and adult education centers.
Is the material on this site suitable for
minors?
No. Modernism,
post-Modernism, and other related literary movements cover a
wide variety of the avant-garde, while the contemporary
writers, poets, artists, musicians and filmmakers featured
on these pages thoughtfully address a broad spectrum of
adult topics and themes.
Why are there so many book advertisements?
There are two reasons for
this. The most obvious reason is to help fund the
LBHF's goals by retaining a
small commission for each item sold. The second less obvious
reason, pertains to meeting the copyright requirements for
the authors whom we feature. Our relationship with
Amazon.com allows us to use selected book jacket
images as advertised items. As such, the fair use of these
images enables us to add visual interest to our pages.
